Time to Laminate

Just a quick one today to let you all know that, of course, over reaction might have been yesterday’s word of the day! The first day went as well as could be expected. Walking into a staffroom full of people is always going to be fairly terrifying when you know no one, but I was instantly put at ease. Not only did I spot a couple of faces I have passed in my previous incarnation but as this is a ‘merged’ school, at least half of the staff are in a similar boat. So there were lots of people wandering around clueless as to where they were going or where the backing paper is kept!

My corner is almost organised, even though the rest of the room appears to be housing everything the two joined schools have no use for! I am now sitting down to print out resources and laminate them. Yes I own my own laminator. So little writing today, but a lot of covering things in melted plastic. The joys of Primary education.

Thank you so much to all those who shared their wisdom with me yesterday and for the incredibly kind words of encouragement. You genuinely don’t know just how much they meant to me. And when the tears fell during a rather tricky game of scrabble last night, I hung on to all those comments and came out smiling. I still didn’t win scrabble though.

  1. See Natalie, not only were the Roses redder, but the thorns now have a protective coating to keep from pricking little fingers (and hearts)!

  2. Glad your day turned out to be good!

  3. glad it turned out okay.
